Such is the case with this beautiful piece of art pottery that bears the markings of Shearwater Pottery on the bottom. This small pitcher comes with a letter of authenticity signed by M. Anderson Ashley - the artist's daughter - who runs Shearwater Pottery in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. When I presented the pitcher for her inspection, she immediately knew it was thrown by her father, and founder of Shearwater Pottery in the 1930's. She issued a letter of authenticity for the piece of art. (Read more)
