I had a version of this, same style but the shades were narrower. I had to sell it when I moved this year, I was so bummed.
I'd love to convert this to battery operation for you... I have done many of this type.

Is it a Welby, Elgin or Syroco by chance?
I have seen that exact model periodically on ebay.
