Odds are the graphic layout of the players and design were going through final evaluation stages, before the cutting to cards.
Really cool, they would look great framed! Could you send any other pictures of these (flat on or from different angles) or with other players to dittmar.eric@gmail.com?

The maker's marks read "B Callenpnr & Co Boston" and on the other side "1 1/2."
It is particularly beautiful more so I would imagine if you fully understand and appreciate it's mechanism of effect and design. Thanks for posting Earthling!

Roughly ten inches long. Stamped into the metal on side 1: "The Bridgeport Howe Mfg. Corp. U.S.A. Stamped into the metal on side 2: "Patented Sept.29.1908"
