update - decided to just put it up on the wall without spending the money to add a transformer. I like the feeling I get of remembering my Dad when I look at it. Part of my growing up, a part of Dad...

Well, still thinking about it - best price here in Phoenix is $125, for a new transformer. Looks pretty good without being lit up - trying to justify the $ as a retired guy. Thinking about it.......

I've found and contacted a local shop - about what should I expect to pay for a transformer to be installed? Thanks.
