My wife took one look at the snake on the stick on the handle and said it was a medical symbol. Sure enough when I researched it on Google, it looks like a representation of the "Staff of Aesulapius"...
I have one too from the Webb Brewery and haven't found much information. They are huge and very cool. The only thing I can figure is that the beer or ale was transported in these.
I bought mine at an auction in S. Florida. It was probably an estate item.
I have googled every possible spelling I could think of and couldn't find anything similar. Yours definitely comes from the same source.
@vetraio50, Thank you for your comment. Yes, it is definitely an H and the symbols around it have 6 rounded points and a dot in each rounded point. I will check out Richter and Hahn!! thank you so much
