yes the lion was definitely an add on as nail is much newer than the old hand made nails in the rest of it Thank You for your help
I don't think the latch is original or it has been repaired as nails are different much more recent
nothing inside nails definitely hammer marks labels are on outside and most likely a shipping label sucks that someone painted over them
K took some different pictures. Hysterical that I have had this piece for over 25 years and never noticed the drawer pulls being off till you said it.
Thank you so much ...now that it is daylight here are some more photos. What I always thought odd is to the left of lock/clasp appears to be what may have been the keyhole.

I checked and there is a code in bottom rt corner but edges are worn so only can get 1st part.
I found this in an old grocery store that had been empty since I was a kid in 60's. the bottle is 1950s. I saw one on ebay that said 40s but really didn't think it was that old. I thought 58/59ish

whoever had this one I assumed consumed it...the cork is quite dried up and I keep lid taped on I bought it at an auction
yes easily 70s and possibly from 60's through to 80s plus my dad always had this shaving mug
