I took it to a Chinese gentleman who said it was so old that this mark is no longer used. Any ideas ?

I am thinking it is a family crest or mon.
Is it marked in anyway?
Not sure what that means. . . it's a stylized form of ?, or "longevity." It's not used everyday but you can still find it on as a traditional motif.
