Got this great 32" mid century lamp from GW yesterday. I thought it was really unusual. I liked the light airy look of the brass work with the teak base as an accent. I wasn't too sure about the 8" dia. milk glass torchiere shade, but sure enough there they were online on similar lamps by Rembrandt. If you wanted to change the look, you could just set a vintage shade on top the diffuser. The brass on this one is a bit aged and one of the tubes has popped loose from it's pressure fit at the top, but it does click back into place unless you pull on it. An easy fix if I want to open up the top under the shade. Needs new felt on the bottom too since someone lengthened the cord and replaced the plug at some point. There was a pair on "1st dibs" site (http://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/lighting/table-lamps/pair-of-1950s-italian-sculptural-brass-table-lamps/id-f_780462/ ) with the same design brass body but the tops were fitted with double sockets and shades and the bases were black instead of wood. They were described as being 1950's Italian unknown maker. but with new sockets and rewired. So Rembrandt or Italian 50's or 60's it's a toss up. -Mike-
