... I know I have an aversion to S.O on my Loetz glass. But this one just plain works. To my eye, this is one of the rare occasions where it doesn't detract. In fact, dare I say, I think it actually compliments the unidentified Phänomen Genre decor.

The color changes from a yellowish oyster at the rim to a deep rusty orange at the base with scattered Papillon type oil spots interrupted by random pulled and twisted waves of decoration.

What I find incredible is that all of the delicate overlay is present and accounted for without any lifting or damage. One side of the vase -first photo- has much more overlay work than the other. A European friend told me that they refer to the "better" more decorated side as the chocolate side!

This one stands 8 1/2" tall.

I agree, the silver work is so organic, as is the vase shape and color application - it is just beautiful.

Wholeheartedly agree! I have no problem with overlay and this one is amazing. Any marks? I would be interesting to know if this was done by one of the three US firms at the time (i.e., La Pierre, Gorham, etc.) or European secondary overlay work.

Nevermind. Just saw the last picture. So, likely Berlin retailer secondary overlay work. Cool!

The Berlin firm Rauschenberger was a metal working company know for their mounts. I found them on the internet.
