Hey all,
Check out the awesome 1956 (first year production!) Eames lounge chair that I found at an estate sale!
The leather is not in the best condition, but this is from the first year production. There are three screws under the armrest, and rubber glide-on feet. The label is also an early Herman Miller eames label.
Best part about the chair though is the unusual grain pattern in the shells — I take it it's from a part of the Brazilian Rosewood tree where the sapwood and the heartwood interface. This was a real find, given it's early vintage and the beautiful shells!
Gorgeous wood grain!
Congratulations! Leave it alone! Leave them alone!
Fantastic chair. I would love to find such an example, even with the leather in this condition.
