    (310 items)

    I thought today I would share some more of my pics. These are some of the strange and interesting items I found while searching the back roads for forgotten relics of the past.
    All I have to say about the last item is “Danger Will Robinson!!”

      Great pics and items -- and of course the last reference was a "hoot". I was a kid when that show was on and that robot always scared me -- this one is definitely his equal :)!!!

      The last one looks like a Moonshine Stihl.

      Is the 1st one a "INDIANA" tractor?
    9. walksoftly walksoftly, 11 years ago
      The first one is unusual, I'ts had me scratching my head since you posted it. I think it's a motor cultivator, not sure of the brand. You sit behind the small wheels & it pivots to steer, you can see a large segment gear on top of the differential.
      You can see something similar under motor cultivator at this link;

      Nice link Gargoyle, I've never seen one of these tractor/motor cultivators up here on the prairies. From what I understand they were more for row crop work. There were lots of the smaller walk behind units though.

      Thank you very much bratjdd, trunkman, Blackshiep1, Radegunder, Trey, & gargoylecollector. Very interesting links, now that is my kind of stuff... that would look great sitting in my yard, however, Ann does not share my enthusiasm...

      Picture 2 & 3 are stationary hay presses.
      These things are scary dangerous in operation & took 4 - 5 men to operate, they used wire to tie the bales with & where the term "haywire" came from.

      Pic #2 I believe is a John Deere (Dain) hay press, it has a truck engine mounted on it but originally would have had a hit & miss type engine on it.
      Here is a link to a video of an older model in action;

      #3 is an International Harvester #15 hay press with an International 3-5 HP engine
