Like the ubiquitous matchbook, sugar packs where every where. Iwonder if someone really collects them?

Does anybody collect them? I grew up on town over from one of the most amazing sugar packet collections on the planet... seeing your two sugar packet posts really brought me down memory lane.
The collection was located in the historic Abbott town hall of Marblehead Mass (birthplace of the American Navy and a very historic site in the Revolutionary War): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abbot_Hall_%28Marblehead,_Massachusetts%29.
It was behind a glass window case - literally thousands of packets of sugar, including some of the ones in your posts. Many were clearly very old, rare and delicate.
I have no idea what happened to this collection... if its still there or if some ant colony or cost-cutting bureaucrat got to it. Does anyone know?
I am always amazed at the breadth of knowledge you have. Thanks for the input.
Potrero - some might quibble with you about the birthplace of the Navy being Marblehead. Machais (now in Maine) has that honor in my book. See page here:

Yeah, I know... I think Marblehead exaggerated this claim to help tourism, just like neighboring Salem exaggerated the whole witches thing. In fact, both towns were plenty historic and interesting even without these tourist book items.
