This is one of my favorite Loetz/Kralik/etc. pieces. It was given to me by my wife, Mary Ann, many years ago as a birthday present. It is just 5 inches tall. The base color is deep amethyst. It has an oval "CZECHO SLOVAKIA" mark (very faint), but I'm not sure it's the one attributed to Loetz. Not sure what the small specks in the gold iridized pattern are - it doesn't seem to me to be mica, but I may well be wrong. Not sure whether in the end, this vase is Loetz or Kralik or another maker and thus I welcome your thoughts.

This is gorgeous violetorange. I thought it was ceramic at first.

Wow. The work on the bottom is amazingly complex.

My personal opinion is that its not Loetz. The decor and the shape don't look like anything I have ever seen by Loetz. Its a very interesting piece but the flourish at the base certainly eliminates it from being Loetz. It reminds me of the very earliest carnival type glass.

That said, I wouldn't mind having it in my collection as its just too cool and odd and unique.

Thanks everyone - the lower portion is, as cogito points out, complex. There are no "in the making" flaws - the execution of this piece is extremely well done, imho.

Thanks Tony, two other very knowledgeable folks also are of the opinion it is not Loetz. Additionally at least one collector does not think it is Kralik either. With the provenance mark, at this point it is simply Czech 1918-1938 or so.
