Hello, I found this tap handle at an antique shop not to long ago. I believe it to be a tap handle to dispense beer through a beer engine pump from a keg. I've seen similar ones to this one in old pubs but never this big and made out of heavy brass and dark rosewood. On the brass there is what I think is a makers stamp that reads "J.WARNE" with a logo of what looks like 2 hands shaking. There is also something else under it but I can't make it out.
Does anyone know have any idea on how old it is, possible where it's from and any information about the maker? Any information on this would be great.
It's a really cool piece, I plan to restore it eventually make it fully operation in my personal bar.
Thanks for looking
Chad
I have some similar handles, and have the actual pumps as well. I have not been actively looking for these recently, but found them to be very rare. I am interested in getting mine to someone who is actively brewing or pumping beer, as I am not anymore. I have two that are complete, and part of a third. I can send pics.
Thanks for the heads up pi_huggins. And ya I'd be interested in seeing what you have. Send me some pics to my email at: thebrewaf at gmail dot com
