This tiny little 4" piece of Satsuma is from Salvation Army as well. but it carries the Japanese Satsuma mark. It's done in cobalt blue with an overlay of gold designs that divide the ivory colored panels. One has two figures and the other side has a cherry blossom branch. The top edge is also decorated with blue and gold. The small flare shape is a bit unusual as well. This looks to have a bit of age and the mark is well done but very tiny and hard to read. The circle and cross are visible at the top of the mark which is really all you need to ID it as Satsuma . -Mike-
You've had an asian collection day Mike!
This is very beautiful, I really love the shape and the sparsity of the design.
Restrained and elegant.
Thank you racer4.... it was a short and sweet shopping trip that day ! -Mike-
