Hi gtmofm, I can translate this. The writing is a poetry named 'night thoughts' written by a poet/calligrapher names Li Pie from the Tang dynasty. Poetry say, looking at moon while lying in bed, reflection of moon on ground frost, raise the head to look at the moon, look down and think of my home town....... something like this! Used to learn this in class when I was a kid, very famous poetry. Hope this helps! George
By the way, this object is a brush holder and the scene relates to the poetry of a person missing his homeland.
good morning george,
it helps a lot!
i have to get ready to drive to a night fleamarket right away but will have a further search later on...
thanks for this hint
