A week or so ago I found this Hadeland Hedghog at the monthly Wenty here in Sydney. It is signed beneath 'Hadeland' in script with 'SB'. Severin Brørby (1932– 2001) designed for Hadeland Glassverk in Norway from 1956 until 1984. While there he collaborated with Arne Jon Jutrem and Willy Johansson in developing a series of art glass objects characterized by a strict, refined style.
The 'Pinnsvin' or Hedgehog came in a couple of sizes and colours (blue, purple, clear, dark blue have been seen). From what I have been told this is the larger of the two sizes.
It is 14cm or 5.5" long and 9cm or 3.5" high.
He's blown, hot worked and comes in at a hefty 643 grammes or 1.4lbs!

Just adorable V. At first glance of the first picture he look enormous as it looks like he is sitting on the floor. I thought you had discovered a new wacky Australian species.

hedgehogs are cute,i once saved one from the swimming pool,he was green from alge he sat on the stairs shivering(not long enough to bleach the green on his back)but got away all right just like this one found save haven at vetraios hip hip hurray!!!!
