A few years ago, a seller started listing some diverse Gluek Brewery items out of Indiana. Which was a bit suspicious...Gluek Brewing was located on Marshall Avenue up here in Minneapolis! I had to ask where they had found this stuff. A regular seller they bought items from over the years had brought them a random box of beer stuff. They bought it because the price was right, and began to list it online.

In subsequent buys, they paid the price and bought everything he had, as they wanted him to return. The seller never revealed his source, but the stuff kept getting better, and more expensive! They really stuck their neck out with these three signs, in both buying them and spending the money they did.

When I saw them, my jaw hit the keyboard. I've collected Gluek stuff since I was a kid, and I'd never seen the two larger signs ANYWHERE. Not in collections OR in vintage bar photos! I would estimate we exchanged nearly 100 emails over the course of negotiations involved in bringing them back to their native state, Minnesota.

I had a fellow collector pick them up and we met near Chicago to exchange the signs, and have a celebratory beer at Three Floyd's Brewery. The crated sign was never opened, and has a mailing tag from the brewery dated 1935.
