The watch was left to me by my Stepfather, it was his fathers, and he was a train conductor. It says J.E. Caldwell on the face and is from France. The no# in the case is 61634. That's about all I know.

There is what looks to be an M stamped in the works of the watch and there are some other no's# on the case one looks like 7/50/HD the other is 5/52/00
Pretty sure....well positive, not railroad grade watch, two things not met with out searching the movement. Roman #'s & push-pin set would disqualify it right off. But still cool old pocket watch......The name on dial is common practice for a Jewelry Store to have their name on dial's....know as "Private Label" watches. What I can see on the movement appears to be Roskopff"
Good call Kerry! I would like to add case is known as gun metal.
Movement is NOT Roskopf style.
A better picture of the movement mabye could tell us more
