This trunk was listed a few weeks back since then I've been playing with it.
(Minwax ) Red chestnut stain is the finish on the base color the black you see is me burning a few embossments into the wood The end burnings are inspired from cartoon pictures of a Jenny lines embossments in a trunk book.Clear shellac was used so far over certain sections of the design. The back bottom slat and bottom of the trunk are covered in a Tar like substance that doesn't want to come off. Paint remover won't pull it. A few hundred brass nails/and tacks were applied. Replaced leather handles and stapes. Still Waiting on the buckles and leather lock cover.
Time to start the interior /Need to build compartments and a good tray.
May take a while .will post more pics of interior when done.
Hope you like it so far blunderbuss/and no I won't trade for goats.
I would trade you some coyotes but I need them to eat the gophers. I have a lot of pine cones though.
Stunning.... will trade for fish...

This very cool indeed!! That took a lot of work for certain. Nice job Drill!!!
Thanks, jscotto363 My daughter stole this one from me.I do things a little different than others. It's work but nothing compared to the two C.A Taylor "Indian trunks" I did a few months back ,the burnings and art were ten times what this little Jenny Lind was.
Working on a tribute trunk to P.T. Barnum right now.Coming along nicely.
