Yes, Sergio finally could repair our PC, thus I posted three of our little treasures. We are pretty sure that it is old and russian because of the colours of the enamel and the quality of the filigree and the design. We are not sure, but it is very pretty. As it was unmarked it was very cheap. Now, thanks to surfdub66 that noticed the two hallmarks we know that it is french. We replaced the second picture to show the marks, it seems the mercury, the small one, the bigger is hard to see.
So beautiful and well made!
Mutsabotas6 and racer4 thanks to both, to paris, cogito and aghcollect for the commentaries and loves/likes. It was told me that this was done to contain presentation cards of a lady, so as to anounced her when going to visit some one, but I think that this could hold the paper to do the self made cigars, though not sure.
Looks like a mark in pic 3 on what would be the back , from centre middle go left I scroll , it looks like a mark and the inside is filled so not a hole ????? Maybe my poor old eyes giving up on me ;-) lol
Its a fine piece of silver, I would say a calling card case not nessesarily a ladys , poss russian or French ! Have another look for a single mark ...
stunning!!!
Thanks surfdubb66 you were right, there are two marks and a counter mark
Thanks Sean68
Cool ! Glad it was a hallmark , I still cant really see it clear enough to trace it ! Like me if you have a jewellers magnifyer You could try taking the pic with it on the end of your camera or tab;-)
Regards sd
