Lots of tins are being posted on Show & Tell so I thought to share a rare and fun vintage Guinness Biscuit tin. It includes the entire menagerie of Guinness’ mascots.
The habitually tormented zookeeper is showing off his “Guinness Strength” (based on their famous campaign) by single handedly fending off the mascots in a game of tug-a-war taking place around the entire tin.
The top lid depicts a serene gathering of the Guinness gang. Inside is an artful decoration that includes the well known harp logo and pint glasses with the following holiday inscription:
Christmas comes but once a year,
With lots of happy clinks,
So Guinness send these biscuits here
To nibble with your drinks.
The bottom of the tin is embossed with the maker:
Huntley & Palmers Biscuits
Reading, Huyton (Liverpool)
& London, England
Its size is roughly 10 inches wide x 5 inches high and I really like the elongated octagonal shape.

Updated info from the Huntley & Palmers collection website. This was a special production for Christmas 1961.
