This was in a lot I bought along with a pool table, kegerator, and other beer signs. About 9 inches high and 16 inches long. It has a light bulb and power cord. No identification to speak of.

A few more photo's may help date it like back, bottom, and cord . It look like it is made of painted wood correct ? cool sign !
    2. Feverdog Feverdog, 10 years ago
Yes wood base, nothing on back and everything on the bottom is worn, cracked and peeling.

Oh my god that is AWESOME! What you have here is a Gillco Cab Light. I would put a date on this piece around the 1930's. These would have been place on the bar back of taverns and hotels to advertise a specific beer or brewery. Gillco also made them for other products like ice cream. It looks in pretty good condition with the exception that the base doesn't look original but I could be mistaken. I love this piece! If you ever decide to sell it please keep me in mind.

*Correction: this light wasn't made by Gillco, it was made by the Cincinnati Advertising Product. Very similar to Gillco's design though.

Would you say its still 1930's???
    6. BrewerianaAficionado BrewerianaAficionado, 10 years ago
Yes FeverDog I would still put a date on it around the 1930's. And last night I did a little digging, turns out the wooden base is in fact original to the piece. Does the light still turn on? If so please post a photo or 2 of it on so I can really appreciate it.

Ever since I started collecting breweriana I have been actively seeking a cab light like this one except by a different brewery by the name of Old Reading Brewing Company located in Reading, PA. Those are really hard to come by!

New photo's, Think I need to get a little lower watt bulb.

      Love it !!!

Yes, make sure you use a lower watt bulb. My Pam Clock has the label on the back that says it takes a 15 watt bulb -- so assuming that might be what you want for your (??)

I believe the old cab lights are baked on paint so a high watt light bulb shouldn't peel the paint up. Antique rose is right though, a lower watt around 15 should work. I too have a few beer pam clocks and 15 watts is suggested for them but I find using a bit higher watt in an LED bulb lights the light up and looks really cool and the LED's don't get hot at all so it won't damage the paint and graphics at all.

That is a very cool cab light-there is a full size 15" version of this light that hangs on a wall.

      Hey Feverdog,
First time on this site. Seems great. I primarily collect Budweiser signs, although in the past I owned many unique signs. Sadly, due to unfortunate circumstances I had to dump my collection. I love this light!!! If you ever are willing to part with it....please, please let me know. I would love to own it and it would be a premiere sign in my new collection. Thanks for showing your sign. I've never seen this sign before and I've seen a lot of signs.
      Take care.

This is a very unique and amazing light. Made in the 1930s. Do you still have the light?
