Here is a cool US Honorable Discharge Certificate. This is inside a leather holder. This piece is old but I'm not sure the exact period. I was hoping someone might be able to tell me more about it.

I see so you think it's like a salesman sample and the certificate would go inside kinda like a picture frame ? Any idea of what era we are talking about?

Would be an interesting research Roy. My "quick Bing search" was aimed at the word "discharge" being used. I'll be "interest"ing & you do the "research". LOL!

Hey Roy, I didn't come here to get others to research. My IQ is high enough to where I know how to get others to do that while I go fishing. Thanks for doing that for me/us, but the earliest date I see for the word "discharge" on your offered site is WWI. Of course I just scanned it. What's the earliest use of the term "discharge" you see? Let me'us know, as I'm too busy pulling in fish.
    12. Roycroftbooksfromme1, 10 years ago
lol ....we know what your pulling ..taint fish ...lol

Roy, I certainly was fishing! I was trolling & wondering if you would bit the hook? You have before! LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!
Roy, I don't know what I would do without you on this site? Make baiting so easy most times! LOL! Jousting may be a more accurate term. Love you Bro.

Looks like WW1 era. I don't see the discharge, just the leather holder.

I wouldn't call it a sample, probably just never used.

WWI salesman's sample. Design British uniform with US flag very similar, except for the US flag, to Canadian WWI Welcome Home Medals. Looks like they tried to tap into the US market. Neat item.

Scott may be correct in that it is not a salesman's sample but rather an item ready for sale.
