This is a 1932 Fairbanks Griffin hood ornament.
It is fully marked on the side and interior.
I believe it was made for the 1933 Hudson Essex Terraplane.
The front portion that held the badge has cleanly broken off-- probably hurts value considerably, but it doesn't look that bad.
I will probably make a wood base to enhance the display of the piece.

Another of my areas of interest. I enjoy automobile mascots, hood ornaments and some of the fancier scripts. I have a 1910 Buick radiator script, it too has a small broken piece.
Thanks for looking and commenting dan. This is the only one in my collection-- it was so cheap, I couldn't pass it up.
I'd like to see some of your collection if you have an inclination to post it!
