"Jozefina" Amethyst " Jelly Fish" Compote /Krosno Poland / Circa 1982-Present

I've been waiting all week to pick this up. It had been out on the floor and I asked to put it in the display case for safe keeping so it wouldn't get broken. The plan worked it was still there today. Tomorrow it would have been half price. My friend at Salvation let me have it a day early so I could avoid the chaos of the sale and the chance of the weather turning bad. While fairly new it is such a cool piece. It's 11" tall and the bowl is 8" in diameter. The form is called a jelly fish or sometimes an octopus compote because of the tentacle-like rods that support the bowl. I've seen these in other colors but this one is particularly convincing in this amethyst color with the white swirls and casing. Jozefina glass is in Krosno Poland and has been making glass since 1982. I also have a large handerkerchief vase by them that I posted a while back.
