Girault, Demay et Vignolet Porzellanmanufaktur(GDV) 1877 - 1900
GDV is the abbreviation for Girault, Demay et Vignolet Porzellanmanufaktur, a firm founded in 1877 near Bruere, France, by Claude Girault, Louis Demay, and Jean Vignolet. The firm later did business under the name Cellinite (starting in 1900).
This example is 14 inches tall. I am not sure what the applied decorations represent - flower blooms or snails ?
ÉLÉGANCE !!!!!
STUNNING!!
Thanks guys
your very welcome VioletOrange!!
I love it... why were you hiding this amazong french art nouveau pottery? :)
I'm glad you're sharing them!!!!
This is wonderful! New to me and really beautiful. I love the titanium and iron crystalline matte glazes!
Thank you one & all.
austrohungaro, I am retired now and living in a small (5,000 population) town in Ohio near where I grew up. Most of the French examples I have I purchased 20+ years ago in New York City when I lived there. I had more disposable income then - and buying art pottery/ceramics was how I disposed of it !!
Just joined the "Art Nouveau Ceramiques" Group on Facebook and started posting there . . . and resumed posting some French examples here. Cogito leads the group.
paris1925, enjoyed seeing your Bruere too. When I posted this one on the Facebook Group page I showed/credited the owners of several other examples, including yours.
There is one example with metal mounts including bat heads and wings that is particularly worth seeing. Here is a link:

fledermaus, thanks for identifying the glaze, all I knew was "dense crystals" and "graphite-like". This piece is one of my favorites because of the glaze.
Thank you so much, nutsabotas6
