Cute little bird. Been to a lot of shows, don't remember seeing one like this before. No sticker, but the bottom has been covered with a black, very thin, felt like pad.

Measurements are - 5" BEAK TO TAIL - 2.75" TALL - 2" WIDE AT THE BODY - 1 7/8" WIDE AT THE WINGS.

I can't wait to find out about this puppy, err... bird. Small but cool.

    Thanks Folks,
    Deano.

I am not 100% sure, as I'm not familiar with every form made, but this to me looks Archimede Seguso's 'bianco nero' series. The matte surface finish is deffo pointing towards being Murano.
Try asking on here for a definite attribution :-)

It would seem as thought you have a good eye for this. Did a little research at Bing images, confirmed it's presence under a "Archimede Seguso's 'bianco nero' search. Took it over to Ebay with the same search and found two, squirrel and horse head. That was worth the trip. Had to sit down. Much thanks for the spot on tip. Thanks, Dean.

I thank you for the comment. The only other one I have seen on the Net is sans eyes, as mine is. I'm sending some photos to an expert, I'd like to put this to bed. I'll let you all know how it turns out. Also going to have them look at my swans, and the Triplets.

      Thanks much,
      D.

Hi, Deano: I have one of these birds (there are slight depressions for eyes) and am wondering if you've received a reply from your expert? I have a cat that I am sure is Blanco Nero and the bottom is polished very shiny. The bottom of my bird is more dull or matte looking. Makes me wonder!

      Thanks!

What's the word on the bird? Inquiring minds want to know! :)

If the Chinese stopped copying and instead created the glass world would have to realise just how good their glass makers are.
In time even their copies will be collectible. For now, keep it and love it Dean.

I so agree with you, racer4four, I can't count the times I've seen a breathtaking vase in a shop, only to turn it over and find a Made in China sticker on it. If it weren't for the label, the glass would be considered very fine work, in my opinion. Not all, mind, but lots, and priced so cheap only because labor and wages are terrible.
