Joe Kubert was a proliific artist producing tons of work for DC. His work on war books was combined with a sci-fi twist to produce stories for wierd war tales. The series featured stories from wars throughout history but mixed with a sci-fi and horror twist. Made for a bizarre title that ran for over 100 issues. The series "jumped the shark" near the end of the run by including Dinosaurs and monsters. Some great covers by Kubert throughout the series.

LOVED Weird War. Also was a big fan of Kubert's Haunted Tank.

Love these books I have large collection of Military comics and Weird War was great series. Haunted Tank was another classic. Some of D.C.'s Non Super Hero comics are in a class of their own. Kubert had some great works of art! A lot of the art today seems rushed in most comics or abstract . I't just seems like the artists are making cartoons instead of trying from from life. The older greats tried to be more realistic in my opinion. there are still a few, but not enough...
