Here’s yet another vase from the small Soren Kongstrand Pottery situated in the town of Esbjerg in W Denmark. I have already posted a few other vases from this pottery and described the history of the pottery in these posts (see links below) if you want to know more…
This vase is very typical of the Kongstrand pottery – it is decorated with a soft lustre glaze (which Kongstrand named ‘silk’) and around the shoulder and lip there is a rough lava-like glaze. It has a typically simple shape. Height: 19.5 cm. Mark: SK for Søren Kongstrand (a little difficult to see, I admit!).
