I've researched the pattern on this bowl and can't find anything like it.This was in a relative's house who's memory do to age is failing and she forgot she even had this bowl.It was with a bunch of old American brilliant vases and candy dishes along with boxes full of 1960's and 1970's Libbey glassware she also forgot about. She's from Toledo as I am and we all had Libbey glassware growing up so I can understand that.Nobody has any idea were she got this or how old it is but it sure doesn't look that old to me.It's 9 5/8" across and 4 5/8" tall.It looks brand new without so much as a scratch on it.I'm not sure who made this but there is a makers mark etched on it that looks like what I seen on some pieces of Tiffany crystal but there name was always with this symbol. The pattern is also similar to one of there newer bowls but not as nice as this.I'm always looking at the beautiful things people post here but never have anything that I think is that unique to post like this bowl.
Austrian. Claus Josef Riedel (aka theTiroler Glashütte) mark used from 1960 onwards.
vetraio50,thank you so much for taking the time too let me know who made this.I really appreciate it.John
My pleasure, JOHN. I love the cutting on this bowl.
It really is a stunning pattern , especially when looking from the top, looks like looking down skyscrapers ;-)
So now it's 2022. I have this same bowl. I received it as a wedding gift in 1990. It has the JR etched logo on the bottom. I still can't find the name of, or anything else with this pattern. Did anyone ever figure out the name of the pattern?
