I've got quite a bit of this stuff - plaster or chalkware from the 50s and 60s. And this is one of my favourites, bought for a song on Ebay because she was a bit busted up. One of the few things that I love that I can restore reasonably well. Anyway, I think she is quite enigmatic. She is at the top of the stairs in our house. my children didn't agree with my sentiments - rather they thought she was bloody scary - especially when she is the only light switched on on the landing, but they've come round to my way of thinking - after a few years!!
A large piece about 20in in height - I need to put her on a dimmer!
Very Joan Crawford !!!
Yes, yes, yes!
Well done, it's a true find, and love restoration fact.
Thanks michelle - I just added another 'restoration project' here http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/155405-spanish-flamenco-dancer-with-maracas-tab?in=user

Love it!! ....and with the light!! What a beautiful piece!!
You can buy those lightbulbs that look like a *Candle flame*, and not as bright -- maybe you could try that -- and the Kids will like it better and not be scared!!
Thank you Rose - I'll give it a try..
Lol, snap Vetraio. Just what I thought, very Joan Crawford!
