Hello Again,
I purchased this just this afternoon on the way home from an estate sale. I found the shop by accident,( on a road I don't often travel ), but remembered being there years ago, and recognized the locale.
This was in a locked cabinet, and though the cabinet was full, I don't remember seeing another thing.
It's such a beautiful piece,: the color, the contrasts, the enameling, the over all shape, the condition, the base and mark, and that beautiful medusa-like head where the exquisite handle joins the body.
I believe that the mark is for Samuel Alcock, and that the peice was made in England, but certainly would welcome any corrections or additional information.
When do you think it was made?
I hope you like it.
Best wishes for a great week-end to all,
Tony.
