I've been asked how I display some of my watches, this is one of my favorite displays. This is a counter display, from the late 1970's- 1980's. It was for displaying newer watches, but..... It's really neat in that the large center piece has a window that revolves, showing different poses of Mickey. Takes up a fair amount of space for only 5 watches, but the automation feature more than makes up for the space.
    Thanks for looking

@ Eye4, been looking, nice gadgets, but for the money.....I'll stick to a traditional piece.... That's just me :-)
    14. eye4beauty eye4beauty, 10 years ago
I ask, for several reasons, but one was the commercial I saw had an animated cartoon of Mickey ... An obvious attempt at connection to these old ones ...
    15. kerry10456 kerry10456, 10 years ago
Eye4, seen that also, good marketing, an attempt to give it a retro theme. I would consider one, just for the obvious reason, but again price verses novelty out weighs IMHO
    16. eye4beauty eye4beauty, 10 years ago
I find it very interesting ... The choice of connecting to Mickey over the more obvious Dick Tracy ... who I believe actually had the same concept watch ...

Thank You toolate2 and CindB for the wonderful complements @ toolate2, that truly means a lot to hear, very appreciated!!
    18. kerry10456 kerry10456, 10 years ago
Eye4, point taken, but Mickey watches have and still hold the majority market shares.

Thank you kyratango , Michael, Trey and walksoftly for the wonderful complement and all the support, deeply appreciated!!
    20. eye4beauty eye4beauty, 10 years ago
Not to mean your choice, but rather Apple's ... could they have not done it without using a reference to Mickey ? Walt was a genius marketeeer and it continues ...
    21. kerry10456 kerry10456, 10 years ago
Eye4, another thought......Mickey is world renounce. Dick T. was not as well know, localized hero
    22. eye4beauty eye4beauty, 10 years ago
Oh ... Bingo ! That helps, didn't think of that ... Makes perfect sense now ...

I'll hang up now and you can take another call on '"Sunday Morning with Kerry "

Oh, love the display here ...

      Sweet.
I'm in Kansas City & I love the ties with Walt Disney here..
It was in his Laugh-o-gram studios here that he framed up Mickey..
      Nice piece
    31. kerry10456 kerry10456, 10 years ago
Thanks Brianwithaneye, I live just north of KC and also love the early ties....there is a group trying to restore the studio, back to it's former glory
    32. Brianwithaneye Brianwithaneye, 10 years ago
