Volunteer's was packed because of their end of the month sale. I hate that kind of vulture mentality so I got out of there real quick and headed to the Goodwill up the street. There's hardly anyone one there on" Vof A" sale day. I walked past the display case and didn't see anything until I bent down and saw this huge hunk of glass in the back of the cabinet. I walked around a bit and found a painting. I decided to check out. Since it wasn't very busy I ask the cashier to see this huge glass conch shell. It measures about 9" long and the diameter is about 5". It's weights a ton too ! Well not really, but a good 4 pounds or so by the scale. No marks or labels with just a polished flat bottom on one side. Beautiful colors and stripes (reminds me of Nemo) with different layers of glass. The interior looks like a real shell in shades of pink. A really stunning and interesting piece. I've never seen anything quite like it ! -Mike-
Hi Mike - Is it something like this? How many bumps does yours have compared to this one? This one does not show the base...rats...

Well Rose it has a whole lotta bumps 16 to be exact. It doesn't taper to a point though it more cylindrical. Even though it has a polished side you could stand it on end and the bumps act like feet, but it's at a 45 degree angle that way. So using it as a vase isn't very practical. The one in the link looks more like an exact copy of a shell. This ones a bit rounder.
Ooh yum.
Thanks Karen :)
Oh!! do like this!...:-)
Thank you inky for the "love" and comment :)
Really interesting piece, Mike.
Thanks Tony :)
