I picked these beautiful silk embroidered cranes up from Goodwill this morning. I saw them a few days ago (lack of funds) and thought they were gone for good, but here they are ! Seems they moved around and got hidden behind some other pictures. Guess I didn't dig through the stacks well enough yesterday. The colors are vibrant behind the non glare glass and the stitching is so fine you think you're looking at a print or painting. It's done on red silk and framed with a raw white silk matte. The script in the upper left is probably a title and the artist's seal below that. Translation anyone ?? The label on the back says it came from a frame shop and gallery in North Dakota. Not sure of an age. Maybe mid to late 20th century. So glad this wasn't one that got away ! -Mike-
I bought one yesterday not nearly as fine as yours, Mike, this one is lovely!
Thanks Katherine :)..I just love Asian anything if it's well done. Antique or modern.
beautiful
Thanks Anne..it sure is and I'm so glad it was still there !
Mike I was thinking the other day looking at that thread of the four soup bowls, the two first being Japanese, and those being the most attractive in comparison -- how the Asian aesthetic is so appealing! Side by side with other decors, it is a happy choice! :)
Very beautiful! Is it big?I remember visiting an exhibition of Chinese embroidery in Warsaw in 1968.Some pieces were huge and showed Mao but the quality of work was unique.
What a great find! It's in beautiful pristine condition. The script translates to "You made a steal Mike"! :)
Thanks Rick :) ..... I knew it had my name on it...lol
Thanks Katherine and Ivonne for the "loves" and comments. :)

OAS, if you wouldn't mind, I love this Asian silk panel Mike posted, I wondered if you might share some thoughts on it, you were so good on my silk panel, and this one is so much finer by far. I'd love to know what you think of it. :)
