Real jade or memorex? 2.5" x 3/8" found in yard sale. Had someone with a jewelers glass look at it....thought they could see carving marks...curious about origin.

Is it cold? Does it stay cold if you press it on your skin? Then it could be jade.
Just a guess.
That is really something! Does it have some kind of provided fastener like a loop to fasten it somewhere? I am curious as to its usage. It is very decorative and beautiful---must have been displayed somehow. Lucky You. Looks Chinese.
I remember seeing" something like" the cord you mention It went thru a clam glass , reverse painted "ball"p retty wildlife pattern and the colorful
thick threads were somewhat faded with age silk and as you say complex knots or added macrame all very colorful at one time.. I was told what I had was Asian and a "pull for a servant, with added bells" or a "curtain fastener." and was somewhere in the 19C.--probably the later part. Once when I needed to get ahold of some money, I sold it...and have regreated it ever since. I love yours!!
On Asian and Hindu items with many bodies and arms I am sometimes hard put on which way to hang or photograph these items. If they were dressed I'd be better at it.
would like to see pictures of the back .....
Hold that thought! I suppose Asians know how to hold them-- mayey on the back they could have used the universal language. an arrow pointing "up"--I have a Kamasutra Bronze-- no clue except for the erotic positions... and now I forgot.
Sometimes I am not quite "appropriate" I hope I can stay. The "Irish" in me just bubbles out. I'll try to get ahold of myself. See ya all tomorrow.
