On our trip to Berlin, we also visited the Kunstgewerbemuseum which also has a collection of art glass. There were, for example, a few pieces by Tiffany, by Lalique and some Loetz vases. I am not sure if it comes across, but the vase on the left in the third picture is HUGE! The vase in the fourth picture was labelled as Kralik, but is an unfamiliar decor to me.

I've seen a vase of the same huge size and decor in an antique shop in the US. It was labeled as Loetz, but when I inquired about it years ago with the glasshounds, it was the consensus that the piece was Kralik. That last pictured vase is amazing!
So one giant ends up in Berlin and another one in the US. Such things always make me wonder. How many more are there? Perhaps it is just these two, twins. When were they seperated? OK, I might get a bit carried away now, but I love that you have seen another one!
The shape reminded me of some - much smaller - silberband Heckert vases.
That first one is just amazing! Is there somewhere that I would be able to watch them create one like this? I would love to see just how they do that with the silver around it. That is silver, right?

Laura these are great photos. Alfredo is considered to be a bit of a world leader in this area, you mightenjoy his information and his genuine passion for the glass..
