Hey Bailey. May as well offend those brainwashed idiots who don't understand the diff. categories of collectors! Nazi regalia collectors are a very large segment of the collecting spectrum & they might as well get used to it. I see Nazi's as a cult, but they had beautiful, well thought out regalia. Enough said there!
This is a very early NSDAP party pin (Probably the early-mid '30's). It has the pebble-back behind the red enamel which became rare as years passed. This has the RZM marking "M1/8", which is for Ferdinand (Great Germanic name) Wagner (That we can live with!). From earlier research, his company was in Austria. That's interesting, considering the time era! The town was Pforzheim (Try pronouncing that with an Eng. lisp!). Well, there's the info on something I got from a vet. in the '50's. Have no idea why I have held on to it. Maybe I knew that some day, I could throw it in the face of biased idiots?
Ah, the last pic.. Little trinket I picked up from a friend. He was a sniper in Nam with 106 confirmed. Said they didn't count kills in regular combat. 16 in one day! Kind of like holding a ghost, so I sold it (quick).

    Have a nice day!

Oh no it is that which must not be seen on eBay! I myself understand. Very cool post I like Glocks.
    2. Vintagefran Vintagefran, 9 years ago
Hi Blunderbuss2. It is cool. A terrible point in human history but is fascinating. The art work & buildings etc. of the Nazis look so 'of their time' & very distinctive. Personally I wouldn't collect this stuff but I can see why people do.
    3. hotairfan hotairfan, 9 years ago
I get similar reactions from some.... ahem... people, when I show or display animal handling items. The bambi..ites claim that the items are cruel and should never have been used, shown, or collected. They forget the most important thoughts of a collector.....Is it rare? .... Is it interesting? ... Did it serve a useful purpose? ... Is there a story behind it? ...
History is written not only by visions of sugar plums and sweet dreams. There are also dark sides of history, and even though it might be distasteful sometimes, it still is history. THIS IS WHAT A COLLECTOR IS LOOKING FOR... HISTORY

I hear what you say and I hope you understand how hard it was for me to press that love. I'm with Fran. I'm still learning. There's much to learn about that sad period.
    5. Manikin Manikin, 9 years ago
bb2 you lost me but I do understand that people collect Nazi items . My Step Dad went into a concentration camp while in WWII and saw the horrors . He carried it with him all his life and would talk about it from time to time .
How are ya doing anyway good buddy ?

I think hot air has it! I noticed that vets where proud of their souvenirs & their families weren't. They seemed to appreciate those of us who could appreciate what they had gone thru to get their prizes. Some of us try to preserve their memories & miseries & some are just there for the money. I well remember the man who gave me this pin & other things that his son had no interest in. I tried to locate is son several yrs. back to offer to return them but couldn't find him. Of course, when I die, his stories (memories) die also. Then, it's just the money makers. By the way fort, the upper one is my pet Browning, also left to me by a dear friend along with his memories.
Mani, I miss you & wonder when you are coming to visit? Interesting story you shared. I've known a number of people who were in those camps & the stories vary. I would appreciate you sharing his story on my email address, so I can compare.

It has been said that if we forget the past we will be forced to relive it. As collectors we force people to remember and many don't like that.
    8. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
Militarist, it truly is a sad fact that so many people want to bury their heads in the sand & a sad fact that others warp history for their own gain. Much of what is presented is BS & not supported by the records or facts. I equate the Nazi cult with the Jim Jones cult but instead of hundreds, we deal with millions. It happened, and will happen again! In places you would not expect at this moment.

Sad to ask, but why is it that The Reds are given a free pass re: their atrocities before (Baltic States), during (In Russia), and after The War (again in Russia, the Baltic States, and much of Eastern Europe) ?
    10. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
Ted, you have a really good point & I'm sorry that I don't have an answer that won't incite a riot. I've done quite a bit of research on it but feel I shouldn't get something started. I will mention that the Baltic States were pro German & over 100,000 served in the SS. As I find, 90% of the SS at the end of the war were non-German. Also, by Jewish claims at the end of the war & what records released by Israel more recently, show that only about 1 out of 7 who died in concentration/Work camps were Jewish. In every war of attrition, the ones on the losing end will channel their food & supplies toward their fighting troops rather than prisoners. It is a sad fact of life, but still a fact! Now, do you think that will stir up enough?! We are dealing with brainwashed societies who don't study records or facts.
    11. Vintage_Joe Vintage_Joe, 9 years ago
1 of 7...this is scary stuff. Read your history again. Small numbers of SS troops were all over countrys that german uccupied, poland, france(vichy), ukraine, estonia....and ss volunteers like finland because we were allies but i think your 90% isn't true.
      Best
    12. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
Check it out Vintage. Those are the figures & I can back them with records if you like. According to a Rabbi's article in Readers Digest dated 1943, there were a total of 6.2 million Jew in all of the occupied territories (far miss for the 14 mil. later claimed). I can scan that to you if you like. The figures on SS members is an easy search. History books are built on lies usually. To know the truth, you have to go to the real records. It's common nature for people to rebel against ideas different to what their governments have taught them as truth. I run into it all the time & can prove my points. Most often not accepted because people don't want to know their governments lied to them. I dare say, you have researched the SS compliments by now & reserve comment.
    13. Vintage_Joe Vintage_Joe, 9 years ago
There is lot people who denied that holocaust never happen, so sad.
      Readers Digest is rubbish.
I watch war document lately, in that document American soldiers force local people to bury all death judes from concentration camp. They(villagers) claim that they never know what is happening around....think that smell.
I hope that you get some correct info from WWII someday.
      Peace

I do have to say it was a very sad time in history!!! but we should learn from it and hope and pray to God it doesn't happen again and I mean lets not let history repeat its self.
    17. SEAN68 SEAN68, 9 years ago
but we should learn from it=means be very very careful of who you vote for in the future................... , trying not to be offensive, that's how I feel about this................ill leave it that this............

I read you Sean. The word propaganda in German means information. Every country uses it but with a different tilt. Where I live, we get "propaganda" from a number of countries & they differ sometimes quite a bit. The problem is that most people are propagandized by their own gov't's & don't bother to research the records. "The same lie told enough times, becomes the truth". I take the time to research and am amazed at what I find!
    19. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
Oh Sean, while studying advertising in university, they told us that the average memory of the general public is approx. 6 weeks. Isn't that scary? Sorry, but history is doomed to repeat it's self. You see it everyday in the news. Are we in the 8th, 9th, 10, maybe 15th Crusade today? On the bright side, can we even imagine adding alcohol to the Muslim mix?If that doesn't scare you, I don't know what would!!!!
Hey, I just picked up a WWII Kraut police/firefighter's helmet. Great condition. Do I dare poste it? I don't want people to think I'm a latent Nazi!

I'm going to revert to # 13 comment by B/J. The political & civil mood was extremely complex from WWI thru the end of WWII. It cannot be grasped by watching documentaries & reading the winner's side accounts. I was much, much more complex. I can't possibly even summarize my 40+ yrs of interviews I study of the study here. I will give my opinion of the cause of the rise of the Nazi cult. The roots of WWII were planted by the totally impossible demand on Germany for vast reparations by France & Britain mainly. The destruction of the German economy by this impossible demand spawned the revolts & opened the way for the Nazi cult. I would be interested in your findings after your diligent research. I will try to remember that I have 40+ yrs. head start before replying. I do request that you quote the records & not history books. My respects.

I have a friend in Vegas that collected German Lugers for years. He has sold most of his great collection now due to health issues a few years back but he had over hundred of them.
    25. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
WOW! I've only had 1/50th of that. LOL!
Oh, Vintage_Joe. I happened to run into another source that gives 910,000 SS at the end of the war, of which 60% were non-German.
    26. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
I feel derelict in reporting my research findings. I must add, that I found over all these yrs. of research, that the SS volunteers (some drafted), were not so pro-fascist, but had a greater hate for Russia & communism or other regional differences. It was an intensively trying time that was full of turmoil. What was going on in the minds of the people in the Baltic States, the Ukrains, Croatia, Turkey etc., we don't know for certain, since we are not them in that time. We can only listen to the few remaining relatives etc. who lived through it, & also remember that their opinions are probably biased. We are (& have been) at that stage where the biased history books tell what our governments want said. I've spent decades studying this & am still confused many times. As usual, much of it is religion! How many millions have been slaughtered under that name? My conclusion: Stupidity of man (the only animal claimed to be able to "REASON").
Scary thought, that! Do I make sense?
    27. PoliticalPinbacks PoliticalPinbacks, 9 years ago
They were (and are) total nuts however they had some advanced weapons of war, Did you see Hitlers Stealth Bomber on National Geo or one of those channels. Good thing for the world we got in it when we did.
My dad was Army Air Corp in WWII
    28. PoliticalPinbacks PoliticalPinbacks, 9 years ago
I think you do make sense if one can of mankind, I recall a mandatory film called "Animal Farm" a cartoon film showing the USSR as the pigs however they stopped showing that film about the time our government became the pigs, We learned so much false history some by design some not.
      Peace

Looking back at older posts... I sold a WWII German SS helmet last year on eBay, I made a mistake on the price when listing that I noticed an hour later however 1/2 hour after listing it sold for $89.00 but it made there day and I picked it out of the trash in the 60s so I made money.
    30. Vintage_Joe Vintage_Joe, 9 years ago
To bb. We know here(Finland) why we fight in WWII. Soviet Union attacks here in 1939, it was David and Goliath fight, soon or later we must to fall. So partnership with German was only option to survive and get most wanted weapons here. There was declaration of war from Great Britain to us too. Till the end we have fight to against Germans too, it was bitter war of Lappland.
All these choices are correct what we made to keep our independence.

But holocaust did happen someone who claims otherwise don't know history at all.
    31. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
Vintage, I am familiar with Finnish situation & fight & agree with their course of action. I might also point out that Finland was the 1st Axis country to pay off reparations levied on them. The lesser of 2 evils was chosen.
    32. Rattletrap Rattletrap, 9 years ago
I hear what all of u are saying but the fact is that the Germans had some very nice uniforms, pins, adornments, vehicles, weapons, in spite of the fact that they were "the bad guys" during the wars.
    33. Father-of-five Father-of-five, 9 years ago
If we ignore and try to completely scrub / forget our past (even the tragedies) - we are destined to relive them.
    34. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
People collect artifacts from gangsters, outlaws etc.. I can almost feel the history thru my fingers, whether good or bad.
F-o-f, never learned before. Are you expecting a change? LOL!
    35. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
NOTE: I consider the Nazi's as a cult that took control of over 70 million people in Germany and probably even more in Europe. No different than Jim Jones & other cults except in scale & regalia. Well, the world is full of weak minds & that's not going to change, - ever! Wish I could report better news. Sorry!
