I found this interesting item at a flea market a couple of weeks ago. It is a printers stamp and it reads " SUPER PENN Motor Oil Superior To All". This caught my eye as I like to collect small gas and oil items.

If anyone has any further info on this item I would be appreciative.

"Super Penn" is short for "Super Pennsylvania". Your stamp probably dates back to the 1930s.

It looks metallic, and is probably not a "stamp," but is more likely a block that was used in letterpress printing. Could have been for labels, but more likely for an advertisement in a printed newspaper or magazine.

TeradataSQL - it is metallic, most likely steel and red copper. We don't know the size, so it could have been used for any number of printed materials. We also don't know what the back looks like, so...

Thanks for the comments. The size is 2 1/4 " x 1 1/8". The back is wood.

The proper term for these items is "cut" and if a letter or number it is called type.
