Titled, "Duty Calls." this WWI poster is in pretty rough shape but it is a survivor. I'm glad I saved it from certain doom. I found it at a garage sale and the elderly woman having the sale was going to throw it out because she didn't think it was worth anything. I told her I didn't know if it was worth anything either but should be saved none the less. I gave her a few bucks for it and she thought I was crazy.
This piece is not a repop because it is printed on very thin paper. Thinner than newspaper. The frame is broken and as you can see there is insect damage to the print. The print is 16" X 20". I added some acid free backing which shows through the insect damage. This hangs proudly on my dining wall. I just love it.
Its a wobderful piece of history. It would have been an awful lose for it to be thrown out. We lose veterans from WWII and have lost almost all from WWI.
very neat piece of history !
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, we should never forget the greatest generations and all service members for we could never repay the sacrifices they made for us.
