Purchased at a Pickers Market, this is a cast iron (coal?) stove, about 15" tall by 9" diameter. Marked PS&Wco., No. 2, it would appear to be manufactured by Peck Stow. Research has not enlightened me, other than they seem to have been exclusive tool makers. I am not a collector, and intend to employ the unit in a tent, but am still interested in the history.
The initials stand for Peck, Stow and Wilcox. This was later changed to Pexto. This should help in your search.
Yeah, I got that far...couldn't find any records, or even dates, of them making stoves...
