I just bought this trunk today at an auction. Could someone provide me with some information on it please-how old, what kind etc. Also S.U is stamped on the side-what does that mean. Regardless, I love my new trunk! Thank you!

You have lovely flat-top trunk from around the early 1900's. It is a standard form and design that was quite popular in this time period. There were many makers of this type of trunk so without a label it is difficult to ascertain what company manufactured it. The SU stamped on the side is usually the initials of the original owner as it was quite common to place your initials on the side. A picture of the marking would help to know more about it. Hope this helps a little....
