Found these in my mother-in-laws garage. She was going to put them in the trash. I've carried them around with me through 3 moves. Perfect for M&M's.! Made in Taiwan, 7.5" in diameter and depicting the Japanese occupation. Does anyone have any intel on my prized plates? Every time I use them, I wonder about their story and would love to hear more...

Taiwan was under Japanese rule between 1895 and 1945 and so this plate dates from that period.
The plate itself depicts everyday objects - lamps, mats, vases etc. The style looks Japanese as they did have influence culturally on the Taiwanese.
I haven't checked Gotheborg.com for the mark -it may be there.

here is something strange going on , this is IMO much better , the bats on the reverse indicates 19 century , and it is an strange mark , something like xianfeng period ????these type of script is an exemption, but i don,t know percisely

IMO we are 19 century committed
