In the 1930's, Beer and Liquor factories were limited to forms of advertising in print and on radio. To compensate, these companies made rolling billboards out of their delivery vehicles. Check Google Images for "Streamlined Beer Trucks" to see the various styles. In this case, two components from two competitive companies, Marx and Wyandotte were brought together to form this period Art Deco Style Toy Beer delivery Truck. The tractor is a Marx Studebaker COE (Cab-Over-Engine) that went through a substantial overhaul and upgrade. The last picture shows it next to a stock, unrestored unit. The upgrades include rear wheel fenders (from a measuring cup), new scale-like grill and bumper assembly (hand-formed) , headlights (brass sinkers), updated fifth wheel, sun visor (hand-formed), and twin exhaust pipes. The trailer needed less modification but did need to have the body straightened and the door "re-trued". This Beer Truck is a compliment to those great designers- Raymond Lowey, Norman Bel Geddes and Count Sakhnoffsky.

The toy, now a model, is currently displayed in a private Art Deco museum in Canada.

You mention Count Sakhnoffsky ... Designer of the Lebatts beer truck ... I have a Heywood Wakefield kneehole desk designed by him .... His bio is very interesting.
