Restoring a 1880 steamer trunk. Thanks to everyone that gave me tips! I am so excited to bring new life to this old trunk. I still do not know what I want to do to the inside or possibly make it into a bench since it is so large. My daughter has already called dibs on it when I pass.
Please do not repurpose this old trunk. Let it remain a trunk.

Nice work -- looks great! I have a hard time with tackling the interiors of trunks -- often I just clean them up a bit. Your daughter has a good eye...
