I lucked in two weeks ago at the Salvos with two perfume bottles to add to my Setsuko Ogishi collection. This is the first of them. It is marked OM 95 and retains its original gold sticker.
The O is for Ogishi and the M for Yataka Mizuno her husband, I think. This mark is used for limited edition pieces created at the Ogishi Craft Centre in the Hunter Valley north of Sydney, established there in 1987.
Setsuko's work reflects her Japanese background, strongly influenced by the Australian lifestyle.
The bowl is just marked OM. No date but has the gold sticker. The jug is an earlier piece signed: "Setsuko Ogishi 1984 J.F.C.C. 118". She was in residence at the Jam Factory in Adelaide from 1983 to 1985.
It weighs 425 grams.
H: 18 cm or 7".
