This bracelet is one of my earliest buys, we go back a long time.
Every time I go out wearing it, it always ends up in the jewellers for repair.
This last time it was in the jewellers for well over 14 months, my poor jeweller despairs of this bracelet because I always end up bringing it in for repair, without the seed pearls. I went Scottish dancing, a over enthusiastic person while twirling me grab hold of my wrist and guess what the pearls went flying off in all directions. The last time a wore it was to my sons wedding last year, as I was getting out of a London Black Cab I got my heel caught in the seat belt and went flying and ended up on the floor with beads flying every where, I was so embarrassed I ran into my hotel, not a good idea because I should have picked the pearls up. My jeweller couldn't get hold of the seed pearls, in the end I sent away for them, so this bracelet is now back home.
Now what I was told about it was it was from the Middle East. Gold panels with Emeralds and seeds pearls, it supposedly from the 1920-30s and in the original box.
I have checked the gold and it is 15ct gold, from the diamond selector the Emeralds Dont go above the last green to the first yellow bar, which leads me to believe they are fake.
My question is why would you put fake emeralds into a beautifully made gold panel bracelet.
I would be most interested if anybody has any comments.
Many thanks for looking
Hmmm, the bracelet has a long history and started life in the Middle East. If they are indeed fake, then maybe someone, a long time ago, pilfered the real stones and had them replaced with fakes.
Just a wild guess! A beautiful bracelet, no matter what.
Hi Elesgirl, I must admit I was thinking along those lines.
Nice bracelet. I think your jeweler would be overjoyed if you asked him to make it into a choker for you and it would look lovely too!
Yes Valentino, it would great to know of this bracelets pass. With the Scottish dancing, I wouldn't normally have got up and danced but they needed someone to make the numbers up, alas it was one of those dances that had a lot of twirling with different people, the rest is history. I think I'll wear this bracelet around the house were hopefully it will be safe. Thanks for your comment Valentino.
Hi shareurpassion, good idea about the choker, it would look lovely, and probably safer to wear, but I think I'll leave it has a bracelet. Thank you for your comment :-)
