Here it is, my red dolphin. It is very well made, with Aventurine. Too bad it's a polished Chinese turd. I like it, so I'll keep it for a while.

LOL..
Without this site I would have though I really had a monetary piece but it's all in what looks pretty and shiny sometimes. Turd and all!! I can always take mine to work and tell fishing stories. LOL!!
I like it, too!
Thing is, a glass maker, skilled, still toiled over the furnace and marver to make this, just like any other glass piece.
Should we judge on monetary value? Judge on the merit of the piece!
Keep it Dean! At least for now, until you are over it!
Chinese or not it's a real nice piece Deano! The interior has a cool decoration, and the color is great!
I have a very nice (sitting) panda bear paper weight with a gorgeous white stemmed white rose within it with a green stem. The flower petals look so delicate and lifelike. It has a vintage looking white oval label with 2 blue oval lines surrounding made in China. I thought at the time, what a great find for a buck99, went next door to the casino, and thought to sit a an crappy old Chinese themed machine, and within 4 pulls @ 40cents won $1,640.00. Some Chinese stuff is ok in my opinion. I remember ppl. bashing Japanese stuff back in the day. Now it's some of the best.
I definitely have mixed emotions about the Chinese pieces. I've been picking up some Chinese birds, not because they are of a certain make, but because they are nice looking and display well. It's not something I talk about with the more high brow collectors. At first I was in denial, then it became tacit acceptance. It's like I said the other day, "My name is Dean, and I'm addicted to cheap glass", but at the same time, I'm always looking for all kinds of nice Art Glass. Thanks for the pro Chinese comments, they help.
Made in China. Liuli glass is very desirable to some, and expensive. I watched a show on it about 6 months ago. There are some well established glass artisans in China, so we can't really have the word China synonymous with crap glass all the time imho. I would have your colorful dolphin swim with my pod of blue ones any day, Cheers :) https://www.pinterest.com/pin/531706299727441985/
