The tray measures approximately 2 3/4 inches x 3 5/8 inches x 1/2 inch. Some of the silver plate is worn, exposing copper on the back. I think it is a visiting card tray. It was made by the Parisian goldsmith Jean Bastide was associated with Bernard Wicker engraver of the late 19th to early 20th century and they have created many works of art with this very decorative technique of metal engraving. On the back it is written something like St. Michel? Here a similar one. https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/245972618/1900s-french-les-crepes-by-r-wicker
